Surat APMC emerges as Gujarat’ highest revenue making APMC

Surat:The Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) of Surat has ranked first in terms of revenue among all other APMCs across Gujarat. Out of 220 APMCs, Surat APMC has secured the top position with revenue of Rs. 43.55 crore. Surat APMC has even surpassed Unjha APMC, which stands second with revenue of Rs. 43.34 crore.
Surat APMC has witnessed an addition of Rs. 7.18 crore in its revenue compared to the previous year, marking a 20 percent increase. The turnover of Surat APMC is Rs. 2300 crore. Surat APMC witnesses the arrival of vegetables from various states. It exports Mango pulp to foreign countries.
urat APMC witnessed an increase in revenue, mainly due to food processing. Surat APMC has produced 250 tonnes of Ratnagiri Hafus mango pulp. Surat APMC will export mango pulp to countries such as Germany, Russia, Dubai, Canada, and Japan. Surat APMC has also received orders for mango pulp supply from brands like Amul, Sagar, SUMUL, Mother Dairy, etc.
APMC Surat’s food processing plant also manufactures pickles, ready-to-eat products, tomato puri, tomato ketchup, fruit juice, etc. The mango pulp supplied by Surat APMC to Amul, Sagar, SUMUL, Mother Dairy, etc., dairies is used to make mango ice cream.
Among the top ten revenue-making APMCs in Gujarat, Surat APMC leads with Rs. 43.55 crore, followed by Unjha APMC with Rs. 43.34 crore, Rajkot with Rs. 36.91 crore, Gondal with Rs. 32.39 crore, Ahmedabad with Rs. 23.38 crore, Deesa with Rs. 14.80 crore, Tharad with Rs. 14.50 crore, Vadodara with Rs. 13.51 crore, Mahuva (Bhavnagar) with Rs. 11.13 crore, and Halvad with Rs. 10.19 crore.
