Congress corporator’s son among five accused of knife attack on woman in Rajkot

Rajkot: Five men, including Congress corporator Vashram Sagathiya’s son, allegedly attacked a woman and her daughter with a knife, tore their clothes, and threatened to kill them. The incident occurred yesterday night in Ambedkarnagar of New Thorala area, and the victim has lodged a complaint at Thorala Police Station.

According to the complaint, the accused are Ravi Bhikhabhai Chavda, Yogesh Vashrambhai Sagathiya, Mahesh Rasikbhai Chavda, Mahesh alias Lalo Muljibhai Parmar, and Chirag Rasikbhai Chavda. The woman reported that the attack was preceded by an argument between her son and the accused. Ravi and Mahesh had verbally abused her son and threatened to break his leg if he passed through the street again.

The woman alleges that the five accused came to her street in a car, started verbally abusing her, and then attacked her with a knife. When her son left the house, the accused returned, abused her again, tore her clothes, and threatened to beat her daughter.

Based on the woman’s complaint, the Thorala Police have registered a case against the five men, including Congress leader Vashram Sagathiya’s son. The investigation is being led by PSI M S Maheshwari. DeshGujarat
