Ahmedabad: A feud stemming from a fight last week led to the murders of Amir Ansari and Tabrez Pathan in Gomtipur on Wednesday night. The two rival groups had gathered to negotiate a compromise, however, the victims allegedly arrived armed with swords.
According to the FIR filed by Imtiaz Ansari, he and his friend Amir had an ongoing dispute with Kamil Maniyar from a previous altercation.
On Wednesday night, Imtiaz, Amir, and Tabrez were gathered in Gomtipur when Kamil called and wanted to reach a compromise. He asked them to meet at a specific location where the complainant and his friend met with Sameer, Kamil, Sahil, and Shaqeel Maniyar. The meeting turned violent as they were about to leave.
Imtiaz alleged that as Amir and his friends tried to escape, Sameer and Sahil allegedly chased them down and attacked them with metal pipes. Sameer took a sword from Amir and struck him multiple times. When Tabrez and Imtiaz tried to intervene, Kamil allegedly grabbed Imtiaz’s sword and stabbed Tabrez in the chest.
Imtiaz, who was also allegedly struck managed to escape and reach Civil Hospital, where he filed a complaint of murder against Sameer, Kamil, and Sahil.
“Sameer Maniyar has been arrested and he has claimed that the killings were in self-defense as Amir Ansari and the others had come prepared to kill them,” the police officer said. DeshGujarat
