Vapi: An unknown individual attempted to overturn a train by placing a cement pole on the railway track near Balitha crossing in Vapi last night. The patrol team found the obstruction quickly, informed higher authorities, and prevented a disaster by stopping an approaching goods train.
The cement pole, taken from a nearby railway construction site, was placed between poles 17 and 19 at kilometer 173 on the Valsad-Mumbai route. Railway workers, involved in laying an electric line on the corridor, noticed the cement pole and reported it to the contractor and railway officials.
Technical staff, railway officials from Valsad and Mumbai, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), and the Government Railway Police (GRP) rushed to investigate the incident. DRM Neeraj Verma, who inspected the site, confirmed the attempt to derail the train. Railway and security officials, including RPF and GRP, are investigating the incident. DeshGujarat
