Abu Dhabi bound Nepal Citizen held at Ahmedabad Airport for presenting forged Indian Passport

Ahmedabad: A Nepali citizen named Jagat Bahadur Dalami was apprehended at Ahmedabad International Airport yesterday for attempting to board an Indigo flight to Abu Dhabi using a forged Indian identity.
Dalami had obtained forged Indian documents including an Aadhar card, a PAN card, and a passport from Chandigarh under the assumed name Suraj Singh. He intended to travel to Abu Dhabi on a tourist visa via an Indigo flight. At 10:45 PM, he approached counter 1 for departure immigration clearance handled by Immigration Officer Pramod Ithape SA.
Officer Ithape grew suspicious due to discrepancies in Dalami’s stated age and date of birth. Consequently, Officer Ithape escalated the case to Wing In Charge SH Abhishek Manohar IO. During interrogation, Dalami confessed verbally and in writing that he had obtained an Indian passport using fraudulently acquired documents like Aadhar card and PAN card. He also disclosed his true identity.
He was booked under IPC sections 406, 465, 467, 468, 471, and Section 12(2) of the Passports Act. The case has been handed over to the SVPI Police Station for further investigation. DeshGujarat
