ACB Gujarat nabs lady cop for seeking and taking bribe from shopkeeper for not filing FIR

Surat: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) nabbed a lady Police Sub Inspector(PSI) Nilamben Maru in a bribe case. Maru works in Saurabh Police chowky, which falls under Adajan Police station of Surat city. Maru was nabbed after she received Rs. 5,000 bribe within the police chowky today.
According to ACB, a complainant in this case has shops in Adajan area. There was parking related application(Arji or
a simple complain on paper which is not FIR) against him by someone. The accused PSI called the shopkeeper and demanded Rs. 5,000 bribe for not filing First Information Report(formal complaint) against him under section 283.
As the shopkeeper was unwilling to pay bribe, he contacted ACB, following which a trap was arranged and accused lady constable was held after she received bribe in Saurabh police chowky. DeshGujarat
