Police seize fake Apple accessories worth Rs 4.2 lakh from 5 shops in Porbandar

Porbandar: A police complaint has been lodged against five shopkeepers after mobile phone accessories bearing counterfeit Apple symbols worth Rs 4,20,000 were seized from their shops in Porbandar.

Vishalsingh Heerasinh Jadeja, aged 44 and a resident of Maninagar East, Ahmedabad, works as a Regional Manager at Griffin Intellectual Property Services Ltd. He filed the complaint with Porbandar’s Kamalbagh Police Station to safeguard the trademark and copyright rights of various branded companies.

Acting on the complaint and information that several mobile shops in the city were selling duplicate mobile accessories bearing the Apple symbol of the iPhone company, police conducted investigations. Counterfeit goods were found in shops owned by Lilaram Mafaram Mali, originally from Rajasthan and now residing behind Ramdhun Temple in Koliwad; Ashok Kumar Ramaramji Mali, originally from Rajasthan and living near the railway gate of Kadiaplot; Krunal Devaraj Charan, originally from Rajasthan and residing in Devdarshan Apartment near Satyanarayan Temple; Ashok Kumar Diabhai Shiani, residing in Deep City in Khapat; and Hatim Akbar Ali Diwan, residing in Street No. 1.

The shops where the fake Apple accessories were found include Shree Chamunda Mobile, Pooja Mobile, Jai Chamunda, Radhe Mobile, and Hakimi Mobile. Duplicate mobile accessories bearing the Apple symbol, valued at Rs 4,20,000, were seized by the police from these stores.
