French Ambassador calls on State CM: Gujarat seeks to benefit from France’s expertise in organizing Olympics

Gandhinagar: Ambassador of France,  Thierry Mathou, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar today. The meeting, aimed at enhancing bilateral ties, focused on leveraging France’s expertise in organizing international events like the Olympics.

The Chief Minister held extensive consultations in this meeting so that the benefit of France’s expertise in organizing the Olympics Games can also be availed in the organization of the Olympics in Gujarat in 2036.

The Chief Minister said in this context that Gujarat wants to take the help of knowledge and skills of France in infrastructure and other facilities for Olympics Games. He also expressed interest in leveraging France’s expertise on how this infrastructure can be useful long-term after the completion of the Olympics Games.

Ambassador Mathou expressed France’s eagerness to expand relations with Gujarat across renewable energy, ports, and sports sectors. During the Vibrant Summit-2024, he noted two French business groups’ commitments to invest in the state.

Additionally, discussions included potential partnerships in sectors such as renewable energy and the National Maritime Heritage Museum. He also mentioned plans for an educational complex in Gift City in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi International School
