Gandhinagar: Energy Minister Kanubhai Desai today launched the Akshay Urja portal developed by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) in this city. The portal aims to streamline the approval process for Renewable Energy Projects, serving as a single-window clearance system.

Previously, applicants had to navigate multiple websites including GEDA, GETCO, DISCOM, CEI, SLDS, and EPD to apply for approvals. With the new portal, all applications can now be submitted through a single platform. Additionally, applicants are required to upload all documents just once on the portal and pay the registration fee.
