Gujarat govt to set up four new Centres of Excellence for horticulture farming

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has decided to set up the Centres of Excellence for horticulture farming in Gandhinagar, Amreli, Banaskantha and Dahod districts. The State government has allocated Rs. 40 crore sum for next three years for this. Rs. 10 crore allocation has made for each of four proposed Centres.
Sharing this information, the State Agriculture Minister Raghavjibhai Patel said that a total of 17 Centres of Excellence will be functional in the State. Cultivation of horticulture crops has increased in the State over the last few years, as it offers more income. These Centres will feature displays of vegetables, fruits, and spice crops, along with the latest nurseries, training centers, micro-irrigation methods, water harvesting structures, integrated packing houses, storage arrangements, post-harvest management, innovations, plastic mulching, etc. DeshGujarat
