Residents in Vadodara park cars on overbridges to avoid damages from flood water

Vadodara: Fearing flood like situation and related damages to their vehicles, the residents of Vadodara city have parked their cars on the fly-over bridge. A video of one such flyover bridge at Sama is viral.
The residents of Siddharth bungalows face heavy water-logging and related damages to their vehicles, everytime when river Vishwamitri which flows in the middle of the city goes beyond danger mark of 26 ft and further touch 29 ft mark. Siddharth Bungalows area is vulnurable at such times because it is located in low lying area next to river Vishwamitri. The area not just suffers from heavy flood water logging issue but also witness entry of crocodiles from the river to streets.
The water level of Vishavmiti crossed the danged mark of 26 ft at 5 am this morning. At 12 noon the water level of the river was 27.50 feet against the danger mark of 26 feets. Siddharth bungalows had witnessed flood water logging and movements of crocodiles in the year 2019, 2013 and 2014. Ever since 2019 experience, the residents use to park their vehicles on the over bridge to save them from damage of flood water. Vadodara witnessed heavy rain yesterday. Due to very heavy rains across Central Gujarat, the Aaji dam crossed 211 ft mark, following which, water is being released to downstream in river Vishwamitri. DeshGujarat
