Surat to have its tallest building with 29 floors in Mota Varachha

Surat: The city of bridges is poised to welcome its tallest building, with 29 floors and a height of over 100 meters. Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) Commissioner Shalini Agrawal has granted permission to the developer, Karma Builders, to proceed with the project after it received approval from the state government’s special technical committee (STC).

This residential project, called RIO-29, will be located along the banks of the Tapi River in the Mota Varachha area and is estimated to cost Rs 100 crore. It will be constructed on a 5,089 square meter site. Moreover, the civic body anticipates generating Rs 6.04 crore in revenue from providing infrastructure facilities. According to the builders, the project is expected to be completed within the next three to four years.

Earlier, the under-construction Surat Municipal Corporation’s administrative building, with 27 floors, was supposed to be the tallest structure in the city.

It is noteworthy that buildings that are 100 meters tall or more must be approved by an STC, which comprises the principal secretary of Urban Development and Urban Housing, structural and soil experts, the director of fire services, and the deputy commissioner of the SMC town planning department.
