ACB seizes gold, silver biscuits, ornaments from bank locker of suspended ATDO of AMC

Ahmedabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today seized gold, silver, and jewelry items worth Rs. 70 lakh from the bank locker of Harshad Bhojak, a suspended Assistant Town Development Officer (TDO) of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). Bhojak was arrested by the ACB yesterday for accepting a Rs. 20 lakh bribe along with a middleman.
When the ACB team checked Bhojak’s bank locker at the Bank of India’s Vadaj branch today, they found gold biscuits and silver items worth Rs. 30 lakh inside. Additionally, ornaments worth Rs. 40 lakh were found. The ACB has sealed the locker and seized a total of Rs. 70 lakh worth of gold, silver, and ornaments.
A day earlier, the ACB team had searched Bhojak’s flat in Pragatinagar, Ahmedabad, and seized Rs. 73 lakh in cash and a gold biscuit worth Rs. 4.50 lakh, bringing the total value of seized items to Rs. 77 lakh.
Further investigation is underway in this case. Bhojak is likely to face charges under the Disproportionate Assets (DA) case in addition to the bribery charges. DeshGujarat
