One held at Ahmedabad Airport for smoking cigarette on Indigo flight

Ahmedabad: The airport police today arrested a passenger for smoking a cigarette in the lavatory of the Jaipur-Ahmedabad Indigo flight.
According to the FIR logged with the Airport Police, during the Jaipur-Ahmedabad flight, No. 6E 7138, a passenger went to the lavatory and, after some time, returned to seat No. 16F. Crew Member Bhumika became suspicious and, upon checking the toilet, detected the smell of smoke.
Upon inspection, the passenger, identified as Imran Sulaimen Syed, was found with a pack of Gold Flake cigarettes and a matchbox. The crew informed flight Captain Amir Malik, who reported the incident to the IndiGo security supervisor when the flight landed at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport. Syed was arrested by the airport police for carrying an illegal substance on the plane and risking his own life as well as that of the fellow passengers.
As per the complaint filed by Prakash Jethalal, IndiGo Assistant Manager Security, the police has booked Imran under Section 125 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. DeshGujarat
