Surat man cheats builder of Rs 23 Lakh by impersonating an IPS officer

Surat: Kamrej Police has arrested one Pradeep Patel for committing fraud by allegedly impersonating an IPS officer. The scam involved cheating a builder from Maharashtra by offering a 30% share in a hotel purportedly owned by the Gujarat Tourism Department.
The accused, Pradeep Patel, falsely claimed to be IPS Sandeep Patel and convinced the builder to invest Rs 23 lakh through the Angadia system, promising a stake in the Toran Hotel located in Kamrej. Patel claimed the hotel was leased for 99 years in his wife’s name. After receiving the money, Patel returned only Rs 12 lakh, offering excuses for not repaying the remaining amount.
The builder later came to Kamrej to inquire about the situation and found that the accused was a bogus IPS officer. Kamrej Police has now registered a case against Pradeep Patel and has begun further investigations into the matter. After the arrest the accused for sent to 5 days police remand. DeshGujarat
