Amit Shah to distribute citizenship certificates in Ahmedabad on August 18

Ahmedabad: Union Home and Corporation Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Gujarat on Sunday, August 18. During his visit, Shah will distribute 188 Indian citizenship certificates to Hindu expatriates from neighboring countries under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The ceremony will take place at the Pandit Deendayal Auditorium in Ahmedabad.

These citizenship certificates will be awarded to individuals who have sought asylum in India due to persecution in their home countries.

During the visit, Shah is also going to inaugurate the Oxygen Park of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, developed on Sindhu Bhavan Road in the Bodakdev area of the city. This Oxygen Park features more than 1,67,000 different types of flowers and large trees in an area of approximately 27,200 square meters.

After that Shah will inaugurate the gymnasium & swimming pool built by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in Makarba.

Later, around 11:15 am, Shah will flag off the door-to-door waste collection vans of AMC from the function, which will be held in Prahlad Nagar. Shah will also address a public meeting here after the inauguration and lay the foundation stone for various development works by AMC.

Shah, who is also the Member of Parliament for the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat, had last visited Ahmedabad on August 13 to kick off the Tiranga Yatra. DeshGujarat
