Foreign student’s deadbody fished out from pond near Vadodara

Vadodara: The dead body of a Mozambican citizen was found on Monday evening in the Khatamba pond near Vadodara. He was a student at a private university in Vadodara.

On Sunday morning, a speeding Artiga car owned by Gautam Zinzala had plunged into the pond. Later, the car was recovered by an NDRF team after 10 hours of effort. The car’s driver, Dipak Ladumor, had fled the scene and informed Zinzala that a foreign student in the car was seen attempting to exit.

On Monday evening, the dead body of foreign student Karlo Fernandez was found in the pond. It is understood that Karlo was living near Ajwa Chokdi and had been in the car to meet a friend in Shankarpura, near the city. The car tragedy occurred while he was returning from Shankarpura. The deceased was a student at the privately run Parul University. According to Zinzala, he had rented out his car with driver Dipak at the request of a foreign student.
