7 held for recklessly driving luxury cars on Gandhinagar road after reel goes viral

Gandhinagar: After a couple of videos went viral on social media showing a group of youths driving a fleet of luxury cars at very high speeds on the Iconic Road in the state capital, Gandhinagar police today arrested 7 individuals from the viral video and seized their luxury cars, including Fortuner, Scorpio, and BMW.

The videos, which showed more than 20 youths driving at high speed on the ‘Iconic Road’ connecting Bhaijipura and GIFT City with a fleet of over 10 luxury cars, initially appeared to depict a minister’s convoy but were, in fact, a group of youths. Once the reels filmed on the capital’s roads went viral, the police sprang into action and began identifying the youths based on the vehicle numbers.

Gandhinagar DYSP D.T. Gohil stated that following the SP’s instructions, an investigation was initiated after the reels went viral. The vehicle owners were identified based on the car numbers visible in the reel. Most of the individuals featured in these reels were found to be from Ferozepur village. The police have seized seven cars and detained their owners, while the search for others is ongoing.

Two videos went viral on August 20th, and in one of them, a car was shown driving at a speed of over 190 km/h, with the car’s speedometer reading also going viral.

The arrested individuals include Anil Vishnuji Jadav, Jaswant Ashokji Jadav, Vanrajsinh Gor, Suresh Thakor, Sohail Shaukatali Saiyad, Devansh Ranjitkumar Chauhan, and Chandan Shailendrabhai Thakor. These accused have been booked under section 279 of IPC. DeshGujarat
