Ahmedabad gets upto 2.5 inches of rainfall on Saturday morning; One undebridge closed

Ahmedabad: The city of Ahmedabad has been getting noticeable rainfall for the last two days. Today morning, the city received up to 2.5 inches of rainfall. Mithakhali under bridge was closed for traffic due to water logging.

According to data from the city civic body, the North Zone, comprising areas such as Memco, Naroda, and Kotarpur, received the highest rainfall between 6 AM and 10 PM today. Naroda had the highest rainfall in the city, with 2.5 inches of downpour. Chakudiya, Odhav, Viratnagar, Nikol, Chankheda, Ranip, Bodakdev, Science City, Gota, Ghatlodiya, Jodhpur, Jodhpur Zonal, Dudheswar, Memco, Naroda, Kotarpur, and Maninagar all received over half an inch of rain in the 4 hours until 10 AM.

Some areas experienced waterlogging, however due to decreasing pace of rainfall, waterlogging cleared gradually. To release water from the Sabarmati River, three gates of the Vasna Barrage were opened.

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department, in its latest forecast, has issued a yellow warning for the city with a forecast of heavy rains during the next 48 hours. DeshGujarat
