Audio lessons of Bhagavad Gita begin in Ahmedabad schools
September 03, 2024
Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad city district education office has introduced a program aimed at teaching students of classes 6 to 12 the philosophy of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita through verse recitation in local schools.
This program builds on the earlier inclusion of select verses from the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita in the curriculum by providing audio lessons. The education department has created 108 audio recordings for students, each featuring a verse along with its explanation. These three-minute audio clips will focus on one verse each week, assisting students in grasping the meanings and life lessons conveyed by the Bhagavad Gita.
Launched on Monday, the final day of the Shravan month, this initiative seeks to impart Indian philosophy without the distractions of social media. Participation in these audio lessons will be optional for schools.
Rohit Chaudhary, the Ahmedabad city DEO, stated that schools have been notified about the voluntary incorporation of the Bhagavad Gita. “Audio recordings have been developed to help students learn life values from the Bhagavad Gita. Each week, students will receive insights into one verse through these three-minute audios,” Chaudhary remarked. DeshGujarat
