Seven drown in Saraswati Dam in Patan; 4 dead and 3 rescued

Patan: In a tragic incident, seven people were swept away by the strong currents of the Saraswati dam in Patan on Wednesday evening. Out of these seven individuals, four members of the same family drowned, while three people were rescued.
Collector Arvind Vijayan stated that on Wednesday evening, seven people were swept away in the Saraswati dam. Locals rescued two men and a woman, but four people went missing.
The administration deployed 15 divers from Patan, Mehsana, and Sidhpur for rescue and search operations, along with 15 tractors and earthmovers, using their headlights to assist in the nighttime search. After an all-night operation, the four bodies were found, and the victims were identified as Shital Prajapati (37), her sons Daksh (17) and Jimit (15), and Nayan Prajapati (30), the wife, children, and brother of Nitish Prajapati from the Verai Chakla locality in Patan town.
Local MLA Kirit Patel, District Collector, Saraswati police, and B Division police were all present during the rescue operation. DeshGujarat
