September 14, 2024
Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is advancing its renewable energy efforts with the approval of a Rs 154 crore, 30MW ground-mounted solar park in Kheradi village, Sabarkantha. This will be AMC’s first solar park in the district. At a meeting on Thursday, the standing committee awarded the contract to Zodiac Energy Ltd, the lowest bidder in the tender issued in March.
While AMC has solar projects in other regions like Kutch, this marks its first in Sabarkantha. The project will generate 41.20 million units annually, saving Rs 20.60 crore in electricity costs and cutting CO2 emissions by 37,704 tonnes. The land will be leased for 27 years.
Three companies qualified after the bidding process for the installation and 5-year maintenance and operation of the solar plant, in which Zodiac Energy emerged as the winner with the lowest bid of Rs. 154.39 crores. DeshGujarat
