Ahmedabad: The Bopal police have arrested Milap Shah, the father of a minor who ran over a security guard in a hit-and-run incident on the night of September 14 in the Bopal area of the city. Shah is accused of allowing his 17-year-old son to drive a Mercedes to a friend’s birthday party.

Police Inspector Gohil of Bopal Police Station stated that a team arrested Shah early in the morning, and he will be presented before the court. Legal action is underway against the accused, who is a builder by profession.

A senior police officer stated that a teenager was involved in an accident on September 14. Following the incident, the juvenile was placed under house arrest. The father was aware that his son was a minor but still allowed him to use the car. Article 105 of the BNS has been added. A statement has been taken in accordance with BNS Section 183. Section 181 of the MV Act has been applied against the juvenile driver, while Section 199 of the MV Act has been added against Milap Shah, the father of the juvenile.

The juvenile, in his statement, revealed that he took the car with the permission of his father, Milap Shah. The teenager admitted to running over a person with the car. As Milap Shah was about to be arrested, he fled from his home. He was hiding alone in a chemical factory for two days and moved between the homes of various family members. The accused was apprehended in a Swift car on Ambali Road. He will be presented in court within three days.

Milap Shah’s 17-year-old son was arrested on Tuesday in the Bapunagar area for fatally striking a 34-year-old security guard named Govind Singh. The minor was later presented before the Juvenile Court, where his interim bail plea cited academic commitments, stating that he is studying for a BBA and should be granted bail pending his examination. The court approved interim bail until September 24, considering the minor’s educational obligations.

According to reports, Govind Singh, a 34-year-old originally from Uttar Pradesh, worked as a security guard in South Bhopal. His brother, Jaswant Singh, also worked as a security guard at Shashwat Apartments. Both were on night duty that Saturday. Around 11:30 PM, Govind Singh went to buy something at a nearby shop when the incident occurred. DeshGujarat
