Joint Committee of MPs in Gujarat to discuss Waqf Bill

Gandhinagar: A multi-party committee of Members of Parliament will begin a two-day visit to Gujarat on Thursday to gather input on the proposed Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024. The committee will arrive in Ahmedabad on Thursday evening and hold discussions on Friday with senior officials from various Gujarat government departments and representatives from the state Waqf Board.
They will also meet with members of the bar council, legal professionals, Muttawali associations, and other stakeholders to gather feedback on the bill. The state government is expected to present its recommendations, while various NGOs are also likely to submit their views.
