IMD lists out parts of Gujarat having flash flood risk till Sunday noon

Surat: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather department of the Government of India, has issued a flash flood warning for certain areas of Gujarat, including Surat, Vadodara, and Valsad, valid until 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 29.

According to the IMD bulletin issued by its Hydromet Division’s Flash Flood Guidance Cell, the districts of Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman, Anand, Bharuch, Chhota Udepur, Dahod, Dangs, Narmada, Navsari, Panchmahal, Surat, Tapi, Vadodara, and Valsad are likely to experience moderate flash flood risks in the next 24 hours (up to 11:30 a.m. on September 29).

Surface runoff and inundation may occur in fully saturated soils and low-lying areas, as indicated on the map, due to the expected rainfall in the next 24 hours.
