Amit Shah assigns goal to AMC to achieve top ranking for Ahmedabad in nationwide cleanliness survey

Ahmedabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today said the city of Ahmedabad should top the nationwide cleanliness ranking in the next two years. Shah stated that the work should begin now, and while results may not be seen within just one year, the city should set a goal to achieve the top rank in cleanliness nationwide within two years.

Shah mentioned that he was to chair a meeting regarding this at 4 pm today. A two-year plan will be developed to achieve the top rank in cleanliness. It’s worth noting that the top rank is currently held by Indore in Madhya Pradesh. Shah appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in fulfilling its cleanliness goals.

Shah recalled Mahatma Gandhi and remarked that a person from this very land initiated the movement for Swachhata.

Shah, who is also a member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from the Gandhinagar constituency, said this while addressing a public meeting after the inauguration of development projects worth hundreds of crores. Shah stated that he prioritizes the modernization of AMC-run schools above all other development works, as these schools will produce the best future youth for the country. DeshGujarat
