AMC Okays 3-month shopping festival; to commence from Oct 12

Ahmedabad: The standing committee of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Friday approved a proposal for a three-month shopping festival in the city. The festival is scheduled to take place from October 12th to January 14th at various locations, including Sindhu Bhavan Road, Sabarmati Riverfront, and CG Road.

Devang Dani, the committee chairman, stated that the shopping festival aims to offer a platform for traders from Gujarat and Ahmedabad, as well as businesses, artists, and artisans from across the country. Organized in partnership with several state government departments, the festival will draw inspiration from shopping festivals in Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, and other countries.

The festival will be held in high-traffic areas during the festive season, including Sindhu Bhavan Road, CG Road, Nikol Modern Street, Naroda, and Kankaria Rambagh. These locations will host entertainment zones featuring food stalls, shopping areas, artisan displays, music, cultural events, sports, and game zones. The festival will also cover the Sabarmati Riverfront, Manek Chowk, Gujari Bazaar, Law Garden, Science City, Vastrapur, Prahladnagar Road, and various shopping malls in Ahmedabad.

In addition to the shopping activities, concurrent events will include a food festival, book fair, Kankaria Carnival, and flower show. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is scheduled to inaugurate the shopping festival. DeshGujarat
