Kutch: Ten unclaimed packets containing around 12 kg of cocaine, worth ₹120 crore in the international market, have been recovered from a creek area near Gandhidham.
“Acting on a specific tip-off, police searched the creek area on Sunday night and found 10 unclaimed packets of cocaine valued at ₹120 crore. It is likely that smugglers hid them there to avoid detection,” Kutch-East Division Superintendent of Police Sagar Bagmar stated. He added that further investigations are ongoing.
A preliminary probe indicates that smugglers may have concealed the drugs in the creek to evade capture, stated Bagmar. He noted that this is the third significant drug seizure from the same creek area within a year.
Earlier this year, in June, a joint operation by the Anti-Terrorist Squad and local police resulted in the recovery of 13 unclaimed packets of cocaine, worth ₹130 crore, from the same location. dditionally, in September of last year, the Kutch-East police seized 80 packets of cocaine, each weighing one kilogram and collectively valued at ₹800 crore, from the same creek area.
