3,639 liters of suspicious cooking oil seized in Banaskantha

Banaskantha: The Food and Drugs Department, after carrying out surprise raids at multiple locations in Dhanera and Deesa, seized a total of 3,639 liters of suspicious edible oil valued at over ₹6.5 lakh. The surprise checks were conducted at Arbuda Oil Industries, Lakshmi Oil Industries in Dhanera, and Bajrang Marketing in Deesa.
As per the official, a total of 3,639 liters of suspected edible oil valued at ₹6,55,120 was seized from the three firms. Based on the information received, raids were conducted at these locations. At Lakshmi Oil Industries in Waler village, Dhanera, a suspicious quantity of Raida oil was found. Two different samples of Jai Lakshmi Mustard Oil were taken in the presence of the firm’s owner, while the remaining quantity of 1,586 liters of suspected Raida oil was seized. Similarly, suspected Raida oil was found to be produced at Arbuda Oil Industries in Karadhani village, Dhanera. In the presence of firm owner Prakashbhai Ramjibhai Patel, a sample of Raida oil was taken, and the remaining quantity of 1,590 liters, valued at ₹2,86,200, has been seized.
Additionally, at Bajrang Marketing in Deesa GIDC, Shantibhai Rajgor, the owner of the firm, was found selling rice bran oil in cans while labeling it as Raida oil. A sample of this oil will be collected, and 463 kg of this suspected Krishna Rice Bran Oil worth ₹84,440 has been seized. DeshGujarat
