Four cops involved in a booze party at Ahmedabad CP’s office suspended

Ahmedabad: The city police commissioner has ordered the suspension of four policemen involved in the drinking party outside the newly inaugurated police commissioner’s office in the Shahibaug area of the city.

On Saturday around 10:30 a.m., during Dussehra rituals at the new CP office in Shahibaug, a group of four policemen were caught drinking at a barber shop, leading to a significant investigation. After a video of the incident surfaced, Commissioner G.S. Malik ordered a comprehensive inquiry, prompting the Madhavpura police to file an FIR against the officers—Vinod Damor, Jujar Pagi, Raju Baria, and Amitsinh Gol.

The barber, identified as Sanjay Nai, was arrested after being traced through the motorcycle registration number visible in the viral video. During questioning, Nai admitted to providing a location for the outdoor drinking party after being offered alcohol, although he was under the influence at the time. Investigating officers found empty glasses and snack packets at the scene, which they seized as evidence.

As a result of the investigation, ASI Vinod Damor and Nai were arrested on Saturday, while Amit Singh Gohil surrendered to the police on Sunday. However, Head Constable Jujar Pagi and Constable Raju Baria, who are believed to have supplied the alcohol, remain at large. DeshGujarat
