Miscreants create uproar in Ram Colony of Nava Wadaj; damage to over 15 vehicles
October 19, 2024
Ahmedabad: The anti-social elements have once again been found creating unrest in the city. This time, some miscreants caused chaos in Ram Colony of the Nava Wadaj area on Friday night.
The vandalism in Ram Colony is attributed to an ongoing feud between Kanu Bharwad and individuals named Lakki Sardar, Shani Sardar, Raju Dabodi, and Jebubhai, who reside in Ram Colony. Months ago, there was a scuffle between the residents and these anti-social elements, who were reportedly molesting a woman. The attack yesterday is reportedly in retaliation for the earlier incident involving Kanu Bharwad.
A mob of over 30 individuals stormed Ram Colony and began vandalizing cars. They smashed the windows of approximately 15 vehicles and rickshaws while shouting obscenities. As fear spread among the residents, a team from the Wadaj police and senior officers rushed to the scene. Kanu Bharwad and his associates fled after vandalizing the vehicles, but their actions were captured on CCTV.
A team led by Sector 1 Joint Police Commissioner Neeraj Badgujar, along with the DCP, ACP, and Wadaj PI, quickly arrived at the location. More than ten PCR vans were also dispatched to the scene, and a police team was on standby to prevent the situation from escalating. Late at night, residents of Ram Colony went to the police station to demand the arrest of the vandals, urging immediate action in the matter. DeshGujarat
