HM Amit Shah attends Legislative Drafting Workshop at Gujarat Assembly

 

Gandhinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, cabinet members, MLAs, and MPs, presided over the full-day training session on legal drafting hosted at the Gujarat Assembly today. This workshop is designed to offer specialized training for officers involved in the legislative drafting process, with experts providing guidance throughout the day.

Class-I officers from various state departments are also attending the workshop, which focuses on four key topics: drafting language, constitutional provisions for legislative drafting, structures and formats of bills and rules, and general rules of statutory interpretation, supplemented by case studies.

In a video statement, Gujarat Speaker Shankarbhai Chaudhary highlighted the importance of the training in improving the legislative drafting process. The event, held within the Assembly premises, brings together key political figures and legislative officers.

The workshop, organized in partnership with the Institute of Constitutional and Parliamentary Studies and Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), aims to enhance the drafting skills of state officials. DeshGujarat
