Narendra Modi Stadium to host its first women’s international One Day match on Oct 24th

Ahmedabad: The world’s largest cricket ground, Narendra Modi Stadium in the city, will host a women’s international ODI match for the first time ever. Under the New Zealand Women’s Tour of India ODI Series 2024, all three matches will be held at the stadium in Motera, with the first on October 24, the second on October 27, and the third on October 29.
Gujarat Cricket Association Secretary Anil Patel told the media that women’s cricket is being organized for the first time at Narendra Modi Stadium. BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has developed a plan to promote women’s cricket, allowing children from every institution to attend along with their families free of cost.
The GCA has received a demand for approximately 40,000 to 45,000 tickets and has distributed over 30,000 tickets so far. Another 10,000 to 15,000 tickets will be distributed today or tomorrow. With all arrangements in place, the state cricket body expects a crowd of around 35,000 to 40,000 for each match.
