Ahmedabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has nabbed a Sub Inspector posted at the Vejalpur Police Station in a bribery case involving an amount of Rs. 80,000.
According to the details of the case, a crime was filed against the son of the complainant at the Vejalpur Police Station. The accused, Pragnesh Kumar Navanitrai Vyas (53), who is posted as a PSI in the Surveillance Squad at the Vejalpur Police Station, allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 1,00,000 to avoid harassment during the remand. The complainant stated he could only manage Rs. 80,000 at that moment. The accused asked the complainant to pay Rs. 80,000 today and to pay the remaining Rs. 20,000 later.
However, the complainant was unwilling to pay the bribe and contacted the ACB to file a complaint. During a trap set up by the ACB, the accused was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe of Rs. 80,000. DeshGujarat
