November 08, 2024
Ahmedabad: The city police have imposed a ban on the entry of agents and unauthorized individuals within 100 meters of the RTO offices at Subhash Bridge and Vastral.
According to a notification by Ajay Kumar Chaudhary, in-charge police commissioner, the ban will be in effect from Saturday until January 7. The order states, “Although agent practices are officially absent at the RTO, certain individuals, either alone or in groups, have been entering the premises or nearby areas, deceiving applicants by posing as intermediaries (agents), collecting money from the public, and subsequently fleeing. This fraudulent activity has come to attention. To protect the public, it has been deemed necessary to restrict unauthorized individuals or groups, who are not engaged in legitimate business, from standing within a 100-meter radius of the main entrances of these offices and from entering the premises.”
The notice further warns that anyone violating this order will face action under BNS 223 (disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant). DeshGujarat
