Portion of Ashram Road near Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram to shut permenently from Nov 9; details of alternate routes and parking

Ahmedabad: About 800-meter road stretch of Ashram Road, just outside the Sabarmati Ashram will shut permenently for traffic from November 9 for all vehicles in connection with the Sabarmati Ashram re-development project. Amdavad Municipal Corporation(AMC) has shared following details over this closure and alternative parking space and roads:
-Sabarmati Ashram visitors who come from Subhash Bridge direction should use a new parking for vehicles created near Magan Nivas.
-Sabarmati Ashram visitors coming from Vadaj/River Front side should use a new parking for vehicles created next to the Khet Vikas Parishad.
-Suffieient number of traffic signages are installed on the road connecting Sabarmati power station bridge to Subhash bridge to Ranip D-Mart to Cargo Motors.
-Amdavad Municipal Corporation(AMC) has created additional two-lane road for traffic coming from Sabarmati power station bridge to Subhash bride to Ranip D Mart to River Front – Vadaj direction traffic, so that the vehicles will not require to stop at the traffic signal.
-A road divider near Cargo motors is closed foe vehicles coming from Vadaj/River Front side to Cargo Motors – Subhash Bridge/Sabarmati power station bridge and therefore the vehicles will not need to stop at any signal, and the traffic will continue to flow on the lane.
-The road from Subash Bridge to Ashram side upto Hotel Ashray will remain open for local residents and societies and therefore the locals will not face any problem. DeshGujarat
