Gandhinagar: Under the AgriStack project of the Union Government in collaboration with the Government of Gujarat, a Farmer Registry was launched on October 15. This initiative aims to link farmers’ land records with unique IDs. Each farmer receives a unique 11-digit Farmer ID, similar to an Aadhaar ID, which includes details about their land. This ID enables farmers to access various state and central government benefit schemes in a transparent, efficient, and timely manner. So far, over 2.5 lakh farmers in Gujarat have completed their registration.

However, due to technical glitches on the Gujarat Farmer Registry Portal, registrations are temporarily halted. Farmers will be notified once the issue is resolved and the registration process resumes.

As per instructions from the Government of India, the goal is to complete the farmer registry for all farmers in Gujarat under the AgriStack project by March 25, 2025. Beneficiary farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana must complete their Farmer Registry by November 25, 2024, to receive the next installment due in December. DeshGujarat
