GSI surveys in Gujarat for minerals, including gold, yield no positive outcome

New Delhi: During the past four years, the Geological Survey of India (GSI) has undertaken four G4 exploration projects in Dahod and its adjoining areas. These projects focused on minerals such as graphite, base metals, gold, rare earth elements, and rare metals. However, despite these efforts, no mineral resources have been established in the region so far.

This information was provided by the Minister of Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, in the Lok Sabha in reply to a question by MP Jaswantsinh Bhabhor during the ongoing winter session of Parliament.

Geological Survey of India (GSI), during its current field season 2024- 25, is engaged in G4 stage exploration of 2 projects in Dahod district, Gujarat for Graphite and Manganese. During last 4 years, GSI has taken up 4 G4 projects in Dahod and adjoining areas for Graphite, Basemetal, Gold, Rare Earth Elements and Rare Metals. However, no mineral resources have been established. The details of these projects are at Annexure.
