7 die as two cars collide on Junagadh – Somnath Highway in Gujarat

Junagadh: Seven people lost their lives in a tragic crash this morning near Bhanduri, close to Maliya Hatina in Junagadh. The accident occurred when two cars collided, one of which had a CNG gas cylinder. The impact caused the cylinder to explode, sparking a fire in a nearby shack.

The accident took place at around 8 AM today near Bhanduri village, located on the Junagadh-Somnath highway. The collision resulted in the death of seven individuals, including five students who were on their way to an exam. The explosion from the gas cylinder caused a fire in a nearby shack.

Local residents immediately gathered and alerted the police and emergency services. A police convoy, along with ambulance and fire department teams, rushed to the scene. The fire team managed to control the blaze in the shack. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem, and the police are investigating the cause of the accident.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Dinesh Kodiyatar stated, “Around 8 AM this morning, a collision occurred between a Maruti Celerio and another car near Bhunduri village in Maliya. Seven people died in the accident. The bodies have been sent to Maliya Government Hospital for post-mortem, and an investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.” DeshGujarat
