December 20, 2024
Ahmedabad: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport has launched a new free inter-terminal electric bus service to enhance convenience for passengers.
Two electric shuttle buses have been introduced for passengers travelling between Terminal-1 and Terminal-2. These free shuttles operate every 30 minutes, 24/7, except during reduced service hours from midnight to 3 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., when they run hourly.
Each air-conditioned shuttle bus is equipped with a 2×2 seating arrangement. The buses also feature self-operating ramps for easy access, along with a pneumatic dual-door system and a finger protection mechanism for safe and smooth boarding. In addition to air conditioning, the buses are fitted with advanced bacterial filtration systems, air sanitisation systems, and digital clocks.
Each bus is also equipped with CCTV cameras, GPS trackers, an emergency panic button, and a medical kit. This electric shuttle service will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20 tonnes of CO2 and cut fuel consumption by approximately 7,500 litres annually. DeshGujarat
