Lioness with two cubs captured after fatal attack on 18-year old girl in rural Visavdar

Junagadh, Gujarat: The Gujarat Forest Department successfully captured a lioness in the outer areas of Baradiya village in Visavdar taluka after it was involved in a fatal attack on an 18-year-old girl. The incident occurred on the night of December 22, when the victim Rahli Avasiya, a migrant from Madhya Pradesh, was passing through a farm in the village.
Rahli was on her way to hand over a torch to her father, who works as a laborer on the farm. Tragically, as she made her way through the fields, she was attacked and mauled to death by the lioness who was present there with her two cubs.
Upon receiving reports of the attack, the forest department quickly deployed a team to locate the animal. Cages were set up in the area, and after two days of efforts, the lioness was captured in one of the cages. The lioness, was found to have two cubs with her. To ensure the safety and well-being of both the lioness and her cubs, they were immediately transported to an animal hospital for further care and treatment. DeshGujarat
