5 held for flashing swords near Palladium Mall in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Five individuals were arrested on Monday for their involvement in a violent clash in front of Palladium Mall on SG Highway after a video of the incident went viral.

DCP of Zone-1, Balram Meena, identified the accused as Mihir Desai from Chamanpura, Prince Jangid from Nirnaynagar, Jigar Desai from Nava Naroda, Pavan Thakor from Chamanpura, and Kailash Darji, also from Chamanpura.

Vijay Bharwad (26) from Ranip filed an FIR on January 10 at Sarkhej police station against Prince Jangid and Mihir Desai over a dispute related to construction material rentals. The complaint mentioned a dispute that had occurred about two weeks ago at a tea stall on Sindhu Bhavan Road, which led Jangid to file a case against Vijay and his friend Arvind Bharwad. Though Vijay was arrested in connection with the case, Jangid and Desai continued to threaten him and his friends.

On early Friday morning, Vijay and his friends were on Hebatpur Road when a speeding SUV forced them to step aside, injuring one of his friends. Shortly after, two other cars arrived in front of Palladium Mall, and individuals armed with swords and sticks got out, including Jangid and Mihir Desai. The group, along with 10-12 unidentified individuals, chased and attacked the complainants with weapons. The video of the incident went viral on social media. DeshGujarat
