BRTS service shuts across Surat today; City Bus service operating in 1/3rd strength

Surat Municipal Corporation to Reduce Public Transport Services on January 14 and 15 due to Kite Flying Festival
Surat, India – The Surat Municipal Corporation has announced a reduction in public transport services on January 14 and 15 to ensure safety during the Kite Flying Festival (Uttarayan).
BRTS Service Suspension: On January 14th, the BRTS (Bus Rapid Transit) service will be completely suspended. On January 15th, the BRTS will operate on a 30% reduced schedule.
City Bus Service Reduction: On January 14th, the city bus service will operate on a 30% reduced schedule. On January 15th, the city bus service will operate on a 50% reduced schedule.
Safety Concerns: The decision to reduce services is due to concerns about kite catchers posing a risk to BRTS buses and passengers. The Corporation has urged citizens to take note of these schedule changes and plan their travel accordingly.
