Holiday declared in a school in Una as Lion enters the campus

Una, Gujarat: A lion entered the premises of Gayatri Vidyalaya in Una, Gujarat, on Friday morning, following which the school declared holiday and asked students not to come. The incident occurred when the lion chased a calf that had strayed into the school grounds. The lion attacked and killed the calf before entering the school building.
School staff, who witnessed the incident through CCTV footage, immediately alerted the Gir Forest Department. The school was closed for the day as a precautionary measure.
The lion was later seen leaving the school grounds through a back gate. No students were present at the school at the time of the incident whih was 7.30 am as classes were scheduled to begin later in the morning due to winter. DeshGujarat
