Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is likely to pay a visit to the Maha Kumbh Mela on February 3. He will also have Amrit snan (previously called Shahi snan) at the Sangam of the rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati at Prayagraj. A 45-day-long Maha Kumbh Mela is drawing crores of Sanatani Hindus from across the world to Prayagraj. Millions of pilgrims from Gujarat are also visiting Maha Kumbh, for which special trains and flights are also introduced.
Meanwhile, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Gujarat has written a letter to the Chief Minister, seeking to intervene in the issue of the many-fold increase in air fare on the Ahmedabad-Prayagraj route and introduce more flights and trains to Prayagraj. Thousands of people from Gujarat are opting for Ahmedabad-Varanasi and Ahmedabad-Lucknow flights to reach Prayagraj due to the unavailability of seats in Ahmedabad-Prayagraj flights. This has triggered an increase in airfares on all these routes. Thousands are also going to Prayagraj through roads. DeshGujarat
