Rajkot: A minor Hindu girl studying in Class 12 was lured in affair and allegedly raped by a man namely Saif Iliyas under the pretext of love in Rajkot. The incident came to light when the girl’s family found suspicious chats on her phone.

The accused school-van driver Saif Iliyas, a resident of Kalawad Road area, befriended the girl while she was traveling in a school van. He later developed a close relationship with her through Instagram chats and lured her to various locations where he committed the crime.

The girl’s family grew suspicious when they found her chatting with the man on her phone. Upon further investigation, they discovered the truth and reported the matter to the University police station.

The police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the POCSO Act and have arrested him. DeshGujarat
