Ahmedabad: In yet another crackdown on corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) nabbed a policeman and his accomplice for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000.
The accused have been identified as Bipin Bhai, a policeman stationed at Karnavati Police Chowki, Narol Police Station, Ahmedabad, and Balkrishna Mohanbhai Sharma, a resident of Shourya Residency, Narol.
According to the complaint, the victim was apprehended by the police with three bottles of foreign liquor within the jurisdiction of the Narol police station. Subsequently, he was taken to the Karnavati Police Chowki where accused policeman demanded a bribe of Rs. 5,00,000 to avoid filing a case and confiscating the victim’s scooter.
