Two Gujarat women nabbed at Delhi airport with stolen passports

Ahmedabad: Two women from Mehsana and Gandhinagar were nabbed at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi recently while attempting to fly to Canada using stolen passports.
The incident occurred on January 23 when a 21-year-old woman from Mehsana was found carrying the passport of a Mumbai-based artist. Meanwhile, a 32-year-old woman from Gandhinagar was caught traveling with a passport belonging to a hockey player from Ludhiana.
During interrogation, the Mehsana woman admitted that she had acquired the passport from two Delhi-based agents, Monu and Bhavesh Mama. Similarly, the woman from Gandhinagar confessed to obtaining her passport from an agent named Jasdeep Tiger from Delhi. Investigations revealed that both women received these documents just outside the airport premises.
The women were allegedly planning to stay in Canada before finding a way to settle in the US. Authorities believe these cases are part of a larger human smuggling racket that provides stolen or forged passports to individuals attempting to travel abroad illegally. The IGI Airport police have booked the women for cheating and forgery under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and relevant sections of the Passport Act. DeshGujarat
