Coming up: Multicolor Fountain, two new Toy Trains at Kankaria Lake Front
February 05, 2025
Ahmedabad : The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has invited bids for the selection of a consultant to design, prepare a Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and manage the bid process for the Multicolour Fountain at Kankaria Lakefront. The civic body has also called for expressions of interest (EOI) for the procurement of two new toy trains and the salvage of two old trains.
The scope of work for the Kankaria Lakefront Multicolour Fountain project includes designing a fountain with floating jets, integrating the existing music system, and creating a lighting system to offer stunning visual effects. The water patterns must synchronize with lights and music to enhance the experience. A minimum of six unique water patterns and 50 effects should be included, with the flexibility for the bidder to choose additional effects, subject to approval by AMC. The water used for the fountain should come from the lake, with proper filtration to prevent debris from affecting the system.
The design must also ensure that marine life in the lake is not disturbed, and the fountain should coexist with the boating area. The consultant is responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions, preparing design drawings, and submitting a BOQ for approval. Additionally, the fountain system must be energy-efficient and compliant with ECBC standards. The project should include computerized control systems to synchronize the water features and allow for quick changes in water effects.
Meanwhile, for the procurement of two new toy trains for the Kankaria Lakefront, the chosen agency will be responsible for supplying the new diesel-powered toy trains and salvaging the two existing trains. The new trains must be designed to align with the aesthetic theme of Kankaria Lake and will be installed, tested, and commissioned by the selected agency. Additionally, the agency is required to provide a warranty period, including regular repairs and parts replacement, and submit all necessary safety certificates and manuals. The toy trains will run on the upgraded tracks, which were improved by AMC in 2022. Each new train will have a passenger capacity of 150 and will operate on a narrow gauge of 610mm.
