Coming up, a 66 meters tall 5-star hotel at Sabarmati Riverfront with 200+ rooms; AMC invites bids

Japan K Pathak, Ahmdedabad: You might have seen that open land just opposite the main gate of the Event Centre at Sabarmati Riverfront. You at times park your vehicle there when you visit the Flower Show. The open land will see construction of a Convention Centre and Hotel, if all goes well as per the Amdavad Municipal Corporation(AMC) plans.

Let’s talk just about the hotel project in this article. The AMC has invited bids for development (Construction along with the Operations and Maintenance for 99 years) of High-end Hotel on identified land parcel. The permissible height of the building/ developments shall be maximum 66 meters for hotel and subject to maximum permissible height from AAI.

Iconic Hotel will have about 200-300 Rooms of minimum 5-star hotel rating, with Restaurants, Reception, lobby & waiting lounge, BOH, utilities (50% minimum BUA to be allocated for the purpose of the hotel and other remaining can be used for commercial, office space and allied activities), Commercial/ Offices spaces (of about not to exceed 50% of total superstructure BUA of the Plot, Basement Parking – 2 floors. The Convention Center and Hotel parcels are adjacent to each other and shall be connected at the podium level for seamless pedestrian connectivity and enhanced urban realm experience and continued waterfront promenade feel.

The development on the specified site for Hotel having development of about 86,360 (Eighty-Six Thousand Three Hundred Sixty) square metres of built-up-area up (super structure) with about 11,400 (Eleven Thousand Four Hundred) square meters of Basement (sub-structure) (upto -2 levels)

The Footprint area of WES-02 (Hotel) shall be allotted to the successful bidder on annual lease rent basis for a period of 99 years from the date of agreement and the lease may be renewable/ extendable for further years on mutual agreed terms subject to the approval of the Authority.
